Activity: “Topic Exploration Brainstorm”

Instructions:

  • Divide pupils into small groups.
  • Assign each group a topic to brainstorm about, such as ‘Ways to Help the Environment’ or ‘Ideas for a Fun School Event.’
  • Give each group a sheet to list all their ideas, no matter how simple or silly, in 5 minutes.
  • Next, show them how to find additional information on the internet by searching for related ideas (if online resources are available in the classroom). Alternatively, you can demonstrate on a projector.
  • Encourage them to check at least one reliable source for more ideas to add to their list.

Home Research Activity

  1. Brainstorming Practice at Home:
  • Pupils will choose a topic they’re interested in, like “my favorite hobby” or “places I want to visit.”
  • They will brainstorm as many ideas as possible and write them down.
  1. Simple Research Task:
  • Pupils will pick one of their brainstormed ideas and research it using books or the internet with parental supervision. They should bring one interesting fact to share in the next class.
